Welcome to the info hub. Whether you’re curious about how CBT-I works, what to expect from sleep therapy, or how to handle payment and scheduling, I’ve got you covered. If your question isn't answered here, just reach out.
-
CBT-I stands for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. It’s a short-term, evidence-based therapy that helps retrain your brain and body for better sleep by addressing unhelpful habits, thought patterns, and routines. It's the gold standard treatment for chronic insomnia and it doesn’t rely on medication.
-
Yes, very. Sleep hygiene is a helpful start, but CBT-I goes deeper. It combines behavioral changes, cognitive techniques, and sleep tracking to address the why behind your sleep struggles and actually fix them.
-
It’s collaborative and structured. We meet weekly for 5 sessions (give or take), each building on the last. You’ll receive customized workbooks, track your sleep, and learn strategies backed by science, but tailored to your life.
-
My specialty is sleep, insomnia, and sleep anxiety.
-
The program is about 5 sessions in 6 weeks. However, if more sessions are needed, then more are needed. The program will go at your pace.
-
Yes and yes! CBT-I is the gold standard, evidence-based treatment for chronic insomnia, backed by decades of research. But beyond citing the literature, I track my own client outcomes using two validated clinical meaures:
ISI (Insomnia Severity Index) - measures the nature, severity, and impact of insomnia
PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) - measures overall sleep quality and disturbances
In 2025, clients completed the full 5-session program showed an average 8.1 point improvement on the ISI and a 5.5 point improvement on the PSQI. These results align with published research benchmarks for effective CBT-I delivery.

I’m an out-of-network provider. However, I can provide a Superbill for possible reimbursement depending on your plan. I recommend calling your insurance to ask about out-of-network mental health benefits.
-
It’s a receipt that includes all the info your insurance needs to process out-of-network claims. You’ll submit it to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
My recommendation is to contact your insurance company and ask if they reimburse for behavioral health, what the percentage is and if you need to hit a deductible. Most insurance companies that cover mental health services provide some reimbursement for session fees with a Superbill. I suggest asking your insurance company the following questions to determine your coverage:
Does my plan cover mental health services, specifically individual psychotherapy, CPT code 90834? Intake (first session) code is 90791.
If so, what percentage of the cost is covered for out-of-network providers?
Do I have a deductible? How much is it and has it been met?
I will provide you the detailed Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company upon request.
-
I don’t offer sliding scale at this time. However, my program is short-term and designed to be an efficient investment in long-term change.
If cost is a concern, you’re welcome to mention that when reaching out.

Under federal law, you have the right to receive a written estimate of expected charges for therapy services. I’ll provide this automatically if you’re paying privately and not using insurance.
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprise

Currently, I provide telehealth statewide in Illinois and Texas. I also provide walk-and-talk therapy locally in Houston, TX. Due to Social Work licensing laws, I am only able to provide services to individuals who reside in the states I am licensed in; which are Texas and Illinois.

Yes. It is available in The Woodlands, Texas for returning clients only. This in-person session takes therapy outside, literally, inviting movement, nature, and conversation to work together. Great for releasing energy while processing emotions.

Currently, Yoga Nidra is only available as an add-on to a full therapy session. If that changes in the future, I’ll share it on the site.
