Frequently asked questions.
Welcome to the info hub. Whether you’re curious about how CBT-I works, what to expect from sleep therapy, or how to handle payment and scheduling, I’ve got you covered. If your question isn't answered here, just reach out.
-
CBT-I stands for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. It’s a short-term, evidence-based therapy that helps retrain your brain and body for better sleep by addressing unhelpful habits, thought patterns, and routines. It's the gold standard treatment for chronic insomnia and it doesn’t rely on medication.
-
Yes, very. Sleep hygiene is a helpful start, but CBT-I goes deeper. It combines behavioral changes, cognitive techniques, and sleep tracking to address the why behind your sleep struggles and actually fix them.
-
It’s collaborative and structured. We meet weekly for 5 sessions (give or take), each building on the last. You’ll receive customized workbooks, track your sleep, and learn strategies backed by science, but tailored to your life.
-
My specialty is sleep, insomnia, and sleep anxiety.
-
The program is about 5 sessions in 6 weeks. However, if more sessions are needed, then more are needed. The program will go at your pace.

I’m an out-of-network provider. However, I can provide a Superbill for possible reimbursement depending on your plan. I recommend calling your insurance to ask about out-of-network mental health benefits.
-
It’s a receipt that includes all the info your insurance needs to process out-of-network claims. You’ll submit it to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
For more information on Superbill, check out About section.
-
I don’t offer sliding scale at this time. However, my program is short-term and designed to be an efficient investment in long-term change.
-
Under federal law, you have the right to receive a written estimate of expected charges for therapy services. I’ll provide this automatically if you’re paying privately and not using insurance.
Please see the About page for full information on Good Faith Estimate.
SCHEDULING, RATES, & PAYMENTS

I’m based in Houston, Texas but all therapy sessions are held virtually, so you can join from anywhere in the states I serve.

I’m licensed to provide telehealth in Texas and Illinois. If you live in either state, we can work together.
-
Sessions take place through Owl Practice, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. You’ll also use it to manage forms, scheduling, and secure messaging.
-
Nope. If you can click a link, you’re good. I’ll walk you through the basics and help if anything’s confusing. You will also receive an onboarding packet after your first appointment is scheduled to set you up for success.
VIRTUAL CARE & AVAILABILITY
-
Yoga Nidra is a guided practice sometimes called “yogic sleep.” It helps your nervous system calm down and is a powerful add-on to CBT-I. Clients love it for managing stress and getting out of their heads after an intense day.
-
Currently, Yoga Nidra is only available as an add-on to a full therapy session. If that changes in the future, I’ll share it on the site.
